Company History:
The rich history of Attica Lumber Company dates back over 125 years! The business was originally established by Wesley Ranger in 1880 as a building supply company and planing mill. In 1965, the company evolved into a retail lumber yard and custom millwork operation under the co-ownership of Glenn Sattler and Russ Wackenheim. Upon Glenn’s retirement in 1982, Russ took on his son, Tom, as a co-partner. Over the years, the father and son team faded out the lumber supply component of the business and increased their focus on the business’s true specialty, custom millwork. Russ has since retired and Tom has been joined by two new partners, Kevin Demars and Justin Papucci. Kevin, who was educated at SUNY Morrisville in lumber manufacturing and wood technology, joined the Attica Lumber team in 2002. Justin, who studied forestry at West Virginia University, signed on in 2006. Kevin and Justin’s up-to-date knowledge and fresh new perspectives, along with Tom’s years of experience in the industry, are the forces driving Attica Lumber Company’s continued growth and success.
